How to check if my Macbook has a T2 chipset?

You can use the model number (ex: A####) on the bottom or back of the device and look it up on the Every Mac website:

  1. Visit
  2. Enter your model number (A####) in the search box and click "Lookup".
  3. From the listed results, select your device by clicking on the Name/link.
  4. The details page about your device will indicate if it contains a T2 chip under the "Details" section under "Processor". You will see a message like:
    Additionally, this MacBook Pro has a secondary "T2" processor for
    "enhanced security," which includes secure boot and encrypted storage
    capabilities as well as enhanced image processing.
